In 2018, Amara Sanctuary took a bold step towards energy conservation and upgraded its air-conditioning systems and other energy consuming assets. Partnering with Comfort Management, the resort implemented transformative changes that led to an impressive 48% reduction in energy consumption.
Key Energy-Saving Upgrades:
- Retrofitted both chiller plants from air-cooled systems to efficient water-cooled plants.
- Installed an Energy Management System (EMS) with monitoring tools for better control of plant performance.
- Upgraded Pre-cooled Air Handling Units (PAHUs) with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
- Replaced the Resort’s lighting with energy-efficient LED lighting.
- Adopted water source heat pumps to supply hot water instead of conventional electric heating.
- Installed CO sensors to control car park ventilation fans.
- Achieved PUB-certified Water Efficient Building (WEB) and implemented a recycling program.
In recognition of its comprehensive sustainability efforts, Amara Sanctuary proudly received the Green Mark Platinum Certificate in 2019 and ASEAN Energy Award in 2022.
