SGX Centre, located in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District, comprises of two 29-storey office towers and a 2-storey podium, housing a banking hall and a stock trading floor. The building is equipped with two sets of centralized chilled water air conditioning systems.
In collaboration with Comfort Management, SGX Centre embarked on a comprehensive energy conservation journey, achieving the Green Mark Platinum Certificate in 2021 and the prestigious ASEAN Energy Award in 2023.
Key Energy Efficiency Upgrades:
- Retrofitted new plant room equipment in each tower with a new open protocol Energy Management System (EMS), driving remarkable improvement in chiller plant efficiency from 1.373 kW/RT to 0.519 kW/RT.
- Re-designed and optimised the operation of the PAHUs and with CO2 sensors, ensuring enhanced energy savings.
- Installed an open-source Energy Management System (EMS) with smart controls for optimising system operating efficiency and real-time monitoring
- Replaced conventional lighting with energy-efficient LED lighting, reducing energy consumption.
- Installed CO sensors and ventilation controls to operate the car park ventilation system based on demand.
- Implemented a waste recycling program and used SGBC-certified equipment such as low global warming potential chillers, energy efficient pumps for long-term sustainability.
- Enhanced air quality with high-efficient electronic air filters to treat outdoor air in the building, maintaining a healthier environment for all occupants.
These forward-thinking upgrades resulted in a 46% reduction in electricity usage, significantly reducing their carbon footprint.
