Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution (STCMI) has a rich history of serving as a charity clinic offering free medical services to people of all races, religions, and nationalities. In 1976, Thong Chai Building was opened in Chin Swee Road to better serve the increasing ageing population in Singapore. The Building Management Committee took a significant step in 2022 towards sustainability by implementing a suite of energy-saving measures, which saved them 48% in energy running costs. Its remarkable total system efficiency of 0.69kW/RT earned the prestigious Green Mark Platinum certification and secured the Second Runner-up spot at the ASEAN Energy Award 2024.
STCMI achieved an investment payback of 6 years after BCA’s incentive funding.
