The Gateway, a stunning 37-storey skyscraper complex on Beach Road, consist of 2 buildings – Gateway East and Gateway West. It has made a significant leap in its sustainability goals through comprehensive energy efficiency upgrades that optimized its operational energy performance.
Key Energy-Saving Initiatives:
- Redesign the configuration of the air-conditioning system with efficient chiller plant equipment, to better meet the operational cooling load at the chiller efficient points, hence delivering a substantial boost to energy savings.
- Installed permanent Measurement & Verification (M&V) instruments and an advanced Energy Management System (EMS) to track and optimize energy use in real-time.
- Selected compatible AHUs with energy-efficient Electronically Communicated (EC) Fans AHUs for enhanced airside performance.
- Added motion sensors in toilets and digital water meters to monitor consumption and reduce wastages.
These strategic upgrades achieved an impressive Total System Efficiency of 0.69 kW/RT, resulting in a 50% reduction in building electricity use.
In recognition of these outstanding energy-saving measures, The Gateway was awarded the prestigious Green Mark Platinum certification, advancing their decarbonisation agenda and sustainability practices.
