The UIC Building, a 23-storey commercial property in Singapore’s Central Business District, has successfully met its commitment to decarbonise. The building underwent a suite of optimisation programs that delivered exceptional results—boosting operational efficiency and achieving an impressive Total System Efficiency (TSE) of 0.731 kW/RT.
Key Energy-Saving Initiatives:
- Re-conditioned chillers and modified pumping systems to minimize friction loss.
- Optimised cooling towers for improved performance.
- Retrofitted existing AHUs/PAHUs conventional motor and blower to Electronically Communicated (EC) fans, integrated with refine controls in the new Energy Management System (EMS).
- Enhanced plant control strategies to handle the small amount of night load.
These energy improvement works helped the UIC Building achieved Green Mark Platinum target under GM:2021 In-Operation and a reduction of 290 tonnes of carbon emission, reinforcing its leadership in energy efficiency and sustainability.
